The first appearance of this mint mark, however, occurred in 1983 with the production of a commemorative coin for 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. This mint mark has been placed on coins minted at the West Point Mint since it began official operations in 1988. Established to serve the needs of miners during the California Gold Rush, the mint has in present-day been used primarily for proof coinage. Though it has been officially striking coins since 1793, this mark was not placed on coins minted at the Philadelphia Mint until 1942, when it was stamped on Jefferson wartime nickels. Following the war, the mint was reopened and produced silver coins until its closure in 1911. Once you know your promised internet speed, test it. ![]() As PCMag's Segan points out in a December explainer, one large point of potential for AT&T's 5G, and all 5G, is offering a higher floor than LTE - the speeds may not be shockingly high, but hopefully they will turn up much more consistently high results. Look through the fine print for data caps and bandwidth limits. Issue: Existing Internal Network Traffic Solution: Stop all internal streaming during your test. Issue: Aggressive Applications Solution: Check for trouble apps. at 220.70 Mbps during Q1 2023, a modest increase. Looking only at tests taken on a 5G connection, T-Mobile had the fastest median 5G download speed in the U.S. As mentioned above, 5G's real strengths lie in providing larger channels of spectrum more often than LTE. © 2006-2023 Ookla, LLC., a Ziff Davis company. So the explanation is ultimately - AT&T's 5G just isn't fully developed yet.īut there is promise. The AT&T speed test tool measures your AT&T internet speed using a variety of metrics, such as how long it takes to download and upload files to a server. Both of those speeds are lower than LTE's peak, which is 1.2Gbps in ideal conditions. Eventually, carriers will deploy more, but for now, AT&T is using 100MHz of millimeter wave spectrum with 2x2 MIMO antennas, which makes for a maximum of 625 Mbps speeds on pure 5G (though the carrier has also thrown out a 979Mbps number for its peak 5G speed). AT&T's 5G network (which right now can only be accessed via a Netgear Nighthawk 5G hotspot) is in its infancy, and while it's a bit more efficient than LTE when used in the same channels and with the same channel sizes as LTE, its top speeds are largely dependent on broad channels of spectrum, particularly millimeter wave spectrum. Well, there is an explanation, albeit not an entirely satisfying one. Left: 5G speedtest versus LTE test in same location on right. ![]() Jager is equipped with a Magpie grenade interceptor that automatically nabs any explosives thrown and defuses them in the air, while Bandit can drop Shock Wires that tie to reinforced walls, barbed wires, deployable shields, and other metallic gadgets. Meanwhile, the GSG 9’s Jager and Bandit bot have deployable gadgets that don’t require them to stick around the activation spot, meaning you can drop their tools down and go roaming as they automatically defend the objective room. With a full-body transparent shield equipped with a short-range taser, Clash can single-handedly tank an entry point as the rest of her teammates return fire, and she can shock anyone that gets close enough to try to melee the shield away. Let’s start with Clash, the Defenders’ answer to Montagne. If you rather defend by going in the offense, you could do much worse than these operators. The glass panels work not only as an early warning system, but also allow optimal activation of pre-placed traps like C4 or Smoke’s own gas grenades.Įcho’s two Yokai cloaking drones can attach themselves to the ceiling and fire disorienting ultrasonic bursts that temporarily blind and deafen any enemies caught in the blast, giving defenders a very hard to spot weapon platform that can turn any breach into a. Meanwhile, Mira can place bulletproof one-way glass panels that allows defenders to look outside without being seen, giving them extremely important intel on attackers (and often acting as a deterrent because enemies are never sure if someone is or not behind that tinted window). ![]() Smoke’s remote gas grenades can easily block off a whole corridor with a yellow gas that downs attackers in three seconds flat, and with 3 of them, he can easily make one hell of an impact. If you’re the camping kind, few operators are as relevant as Smoke, Echo, and Mira. In a pinch, his torch can also be used to cut a proper person-sized entryway, so make sure to employ the tool creatively for the best results. Maverick is more of a harasser than an actual support, thanks to his blowtorch than can burn pinholes even through reinforced surfaces to shoot people from unexpected angles. It’s a support role, but very satisfactory when it works out. By single-handedly tanking every single shot that comes his way, he can act as the crucible that pushes into enemy territory as his teammates safely take out enemies from behind the protection of his shield. Montagne, meanwhile, is a behemoth with an unbreakable shield that can literally turn any entry point into Darth Vader’s corridor scene in Rogue One. The grenade even affects sights like red dots and ACOGs, meaning you’ll not only enter the objective room - the enemy will also have a harder time shooting you. His EMP grenades can destroy or disable virtually every electronic gadget in the game, meaning all the tools meant to neutralise the attackers’ arsenal are disabled themselves. Defenders are full of gadgets that make the simple act of getting into the objective room a pain, and that’s where operators like Thatcher come in. Luckily, attacking in Siege is more than just breaching. 8/3/2023 0 Comments Far cry 2![]() MULTIPLAYER Challenge your friends but watch your backyou never know who your true friends are and who might betray you! On the bottom of the boom arm base is also a handy place to hand a pair of headphones. When it is stretched out to nearly its max the stand will start to dip a little bit because of the weight on the end of the boom arm, but this does seem a little excessive to me and I can’t imagine many setups would require that stretch. The arm can easily stand over a standard 27” monitor, or can comfortably sit on the side of a wide desk and reach to the middle. It doesn’t seem as robust as what the Rode PSA-1 would be, but it’s also only a $30 upgrade.ĭespite being on the cheaper feeling end, it has a large design that lends itself well to a variety of placement points. ![]() Purchasing just a boom arm by itself from Amazon can be as cheap as about $16 for one like what I’ve been using for the last two years, or $40 for something more similar to what is included in the Deity kit. ![]() What makes the kit stand out to me is the inclusion of a boom arm. The kit comes with both a USB-C and USB-A cable to work with different devices.įor mounting the microphone, the VO-7U has a two-stage threaded receiver to work with mic stand mounts with differing diameters. On the bottom of the mic is a 3.5mm headphone out and the USB-C port to connect to your recording device. There are 12 lighting modes in total that range from static colors to an RGB rainbow and breathing effects. Once the lighting is turned on, a single press of the gain dial will change the current RGB setting. This is hardware controlled so there is no need for an app to control the lighting. Pressing in the dial for a few seconds will enable the RGB lighting ring on the bottom of the microphone. On the other side of the mic is a microphone gain dial. On one side of the microphone is a headphone out volume dial with hard stops. Muting the microphone will make the RGB strip at the bottom flash red as a reminder that it is muted. I imagine this helps to prevent accidental muting, but I was a little surprised by how far I needed to press the button. It’s not as easy to actuate as a capacitive button on the top of a mic like the QuadCast and SoloCast from HyperX, but it takes a little bit more force than what I anticipated. Under the main Deity logo is a mute button. The microphone itself has a large overall design with some handy physical controls directly on the body. We got our hands on the boom arm kit, which for just $30 more would probably be the kit I would pick anyways. For $200, the mic comes with a boom arm, pop filter, and cables. For $170, you get the microphone, tabletop tripod, and two cables. The Deity VO-7U is available in two different kits. It also features built-in RGB, physical controls for the mic gain and headphone out, and a built-in limiter to help prevent clipping. ![]() The Deity VO-7U is a dynamic microphone that is generally better at knocking down background and room noise when compared to condenser designs. Deity has a rich heritage of professional audio, so it makes sense to see it stepping into this new space. 8/3/2023 0 Comments Houdini motion fx view handelsI am doing my best to make it work on Linux and Windows. Ultimately a tool making making human, is better than just being a tool using human.I am not a Python developer, but I am doing small projects in order to get better with it, one of them is a small FX Project manager for personal projects, currently, I have only implemented the Houdini part (WIP), but eventually, I will start implementing the Nuke part. Your time spent learning pyro hasn’t been wasted, the really nice thing about a package like Houdini is that it forces you to understand the fundamentals of VFX while you learn. The “right” tool for the job is going to change over time, probably from job to job, maybe from shot to shot. While this is a Houdini sub, and having a strong skillset tied to a popular product is a great way to be successful in any industry, flexibility is ultimately more important. You may get an opportunity to step back in and fix a shot that doesn’t work well in embergen or you may find that the skills you’ve developed learning pyro allow you to do better work with embergen. give the new guy and his toy enough rope to hang himself, play around with embergen and investigate the pros and cons for yourself. You need a strategy rather than an argument. I don’t think you can generalize the question as much as you are trying to. If you can get this level of speed with a solver that's made in Houdini by someone other than sidefx indeed sidefx is going to create something faster than that. ![]() The biggest strength of Houdini is that it's not a black box. So, you can imagine where Houdini is going. This was created in Houdini and all the sims were done in just 20 mins. And although I don't think Houdini will be fully real time in 18.5 neither do I think real time is always the best, I can say at least Houdini's solver will be a lot faster. Anyone who knows Houdini deeply knows that any artist will prefer Houdini over any software even if Houdini takes 5-10 mins more time. Recently Matt Puchala released his Axiom solver which is almost 11 times faster than Houdini's sparse GPU solver. In my opinion it's too early to compare, embergen is kind of a hype now because of its speed, it's making us overlook a lot of serious issues with the software which of course they'll fix in the future but if we are talking about future remember Houdini 18.5 is bringing fully GPU accelerated Nano vdb based solvers which is a full game changer. "What does shredding do?" "Pull the slider and you will see it live".I'd be happy to answer any questions about it that you have. I've actually found that Embergen is a decent tool for teaching the basics to newbies. And if you know how to set up a houdini sim it will take you no time to do it in Embergen. They are two tools that complement eachother. So grab Embergen if you don't need the super highres stuff, or if you need background elements, or if you want to prototype something etc etc. ![]() You won't get the same complexity where you have 18 different solvers and 4 characters interacting with the pyro at once. There is no option to hand it off to a farm and let it go over night. It won't be able to deliver super closeups in 4k simply because there are no GPUs that can handle it. It has no problem filling that with all the detail I want and give me all the passes I need. But that's because I never need to render resolutions over 1024x1024. To the point where I haven't used houdini for simulations in months. Embergen is fantastic for most of what I do (game fx). To put it simply, they are not really competing for the same tasks. ![]() Hey!
